Where Luxury Feels Like Home

Set in the heart of the Alpilles, within easy reach of Avignon, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Eygalières, Domaine Mondesir is a private estate of rare distinction. Surrounded by sweeping, landscaped grounds, the property is framed by ancient sycamores and abundant hydrangeas, while the soft fragrance of jasmine and rose lingers in the warm Provençal air. Its sun-washed plaster façade reflects the quiet architectural elegance of the region, and the gentle murmur of a series of fountains lends an immediate sense of calm and repose. Here, life unfolds at an unhurried pace — inviting long, leisurely lunches, shaded conversations, and time devoted simply to being together.

Domaine Mondesir unites historic character with considered modern comfort in a manner both graceful and assured. Sculpted stone arches, natural clay walls and a carefully assembled collection of art and furnishings honour the estate’s heritage while ensuring every contemporary ease. The interiors are generous yet intimate, filled with soft morning light and opening seamlessly onto the surrounding gardens. The atmosphere is one of quiet refinement — warm, individual and deeply rooted in the spirit of Provence. Each room is climate-controlled, while gentle ambient lighting casts a welcoming glow throughout the house.

Whether taking a quiet moment beside the fire or gathering for supper beneath the Provençal evening sky, guests find themselves surrounded by thoughtful details and beautifully proportioned spaces designed for rest, conversation and connection.

Arrive, make yourself at home, and savor Provence at your leisure.

L’Histoire

The story of Cabannes, our neighboring village, reaches back to antiquity. First settled by the Ligurians, the region later prospered under Greek and Roman influence, when advanced irrigation systems helped shape its fertile terrain. Over the centuries, the village developed steadily while remaining devoted to agriculture, with vineyards and orchards forming the foundation of its identity.

The Cassini map of 1756 records Cabannes as a place of genuine prominence — a town of standing, even in comparison with Avignon. On this same map, Domaine Mondesir is clearly identified as a notable estate, reflecting its long-established importance within the local community.

By the 19th and early 20th centuries, Cabannes had earned a reputation for its vineyards, orchards and horticulture. The designation “Domaine” pays tribute to this legacy, traditionally reserved for estates associated with viticulture — a heritage that continues to shape the character and spirit of the villa today.
